PS2
I always got extremely excited when the prospect of owning another console came around. I've already written about my Megadrive experience and quite possibly how I felt when obtaining the N64 but the Ps2 was different.
I went into a shop which sold video games as you do and wanted to purchase a PS2 with the GTA Double Pack. I was probably 13, the guy in the shop said ''it's OK, I was younger than 18 when I bought Grand Theft Auto''.
I wish I could meet that guy again, honestly I was so happy that I was going to be able to own those games. But then I was destroyed forever. Seeing the prostitutes, the swearing, the blood, the violence. It was the best time of my life. Honestly though it was slightly shocking at the time because I wasn't desensitized to things which occur in video games like I am today.
Soon enough I fell in love with the Grand Theft Auto series and when I heard about San Andreas I anticipated it like none other. My Nan ended up being the one who it for me, needless to say I couldn't be happier. See that's what you need, understanding family who know you're not going to go on a rampage and murder 57 penguins

Soon enough I wanted more games and went onto have about 50 PS2 games. This was absurd for me because I didn't collect at the time and wouldn't for about another 5 years. PS2 games were extremely cheap in CEX, I also used Amazon to buy games from.
Now I have about 130 games, this isn't the most recent picture above, I'm finding that a lot of common, cheap titles on the PS2 are a lot of fun. As a collector I go for what's rare and/or valuable but I now have a list of about 300 PS2 games which I intend on seeking it, no idea where I'm going to put them though.

PS2 Games
I currently have about 130 Ps2 games and have a list of almost 300 titles to purchase.
Big Boxes
Normally special releases, pretty awesome collector's pieces. Tomb Raider was with a load of other games and the seller only wanted £8 buy it now for the lot!
Horror Games
The Ps2 has some great horror games. The ones I'm missing are
Project Zero 2
Project Zero 3
Rule of Rose
Silent Hill: Shattered Memories
Ju-on: The Grudge
Echo Night Beyond
Michigan: Report From Hell
Cold Fear
Run Like Hell
So I have a fair way to go yet.

Dynasty Warriors
This is one of those games which takes the piss when it comes to collecting. There are also other series such as Samurari Warriors and Warriors Orochi, all of which, to the best of my knowledge contain Xtreme Legends and Empires variants, perhaps even Tactics games as well.
So about the games, the series is a spin-off of the ''Romance of The Three Kingdoms'' series which I know nothing about and is based around Chinese generals and their armies which have you fighting various battles which occurred long ago in ancient Chinese history. The gameplay is pretty simple, you have a few standard attacks and a powered up attack.
As far as I'm aware there isn't a great deal of difference between the games, I've yet to play all of them but they're a lot of fun when you have a friend round.
These are the ones that I'm missing.
Dynasty Warriors 5: Empires
Dynasty Warriors 5: Xtreme Legends
Dynasty Warriors 5
Dynasty Warriors 4: Xtreme Legends
Dynasty Warriors 3
Dynasty Tactics 2
Samurari Warriors: Xtreme Legends
Warriors Orochi
And of course the first Dynasty Warriors game on the original Playstation. Not pictured is Samurai Warriors on PS2 and Samurai Warriors 2 on Xbox.

SOCOM
The first one I played was SOCOM 2, I played it so much that it broke, it would never get past a cutscene on the 2nd level. Quite honestly, I loved the game, it's varied locations, the customisation of the weapons, unlocking weapons and outfitting your squad. You could kit up all 4 of your team mates with shotguns if you want or go the sneaky way which is really what the game is about but the option is there.
The gameplay was addictive, you approached everything with caution. You would have to get your entire team in the bushes to sneak up on enemies to overhear a conversation; flash and breach a doorway onto unsuspecting foes or venture off-course to find secret information, documentation and even conversations which will often unlock bonus objectives.
The game is certainly at the top of my list for best PS2 games, it's technically astounding, what they achieved is what people only dreamed of accomplishing back then. You have a comprehensive list of orders, you can order each person individually, tonnes of guns, attachments, customisation, tense gunfights and nail-biting stealth sequences; all set in a multitude of locations.
One day I'll do a video review and do the game justice.
Now as for the other games I have yet to play any one except SOCOM 3 which didn't seem as stealthy as the previous instalment. You had vehicles and maps were bigger. It was a great game with updated graphics and refined gameplay. SOCOM 3 was a lot of fun in it's own right, it was still a SOCOM game but not what I was looking for after playing it's prequel.
